Professor Rachael James

Prof. Rachael James Professor of Geochemistry, University of Southampton

Rachael is Professor of Geochemistry at the University of Southampton. She’s an expert on monitoring and verification of CDR and is carrying out field trials on enhanced weathering all over the world.

Professor Guy Kirk

Prof. Guy Kirk Professor of Soil Systems, Cranfield University

Guy Kirk is Professor of Soil Systems at Cranfield University. His research is concerned with physical, chemical and biological processes in soils; interactions between plants and soil; and how to model soils at scales from the microbial to the continental.

Dr. Chris McCloskey

Dr. Chris McCloskey Research Fellow,
Cranfield University

Chris McCloskey holds a 75th Anniversary Research Fellowship at Cranfield University. His research focuses on plant-soil interactions and how they can affect soil carbon storage.

Dr. Rob Simmons

Dr. Rob Simmons Reader in Sustainable Soil Management,
Cranfield University

Rob Simmons is an Associate Professor in Sustainable Soil Management at Cranfield University. His research is centred on applied solutions to control runoff and soil erosion across a range of horticultural, polymer-based solutions to promote seeding emergence and stand establishment in high value small seeded horticultural crops. This includes extensive laboratory- and field-based experimental work in collaboration with multiple UK and International research and agri-business partners.

Dr. Matt Cooper

Dr. Matt Cooper Senior Research Fellow,
University of Southampton

Matt Cooper is a Senior Research Fellow in geochemistry at the University of Southampton, with expertise in the analysis of a wide variety of environmental sample types by ICP-MS and other techniques.
